If you thought the Champions league finalist for last season are comfortable with their lot, think again! Having been less active during this transfer window, Pochettino’s side is ready to land Fulham’s wonderkid. With the ability to play well in the wide back and attack positions, this could be the guy to revamp their back line.
If all goes as planned, Tottenham are expected to sign Ryan Sessegnon from Fulham this summer with Danny Rose and Kieran Trippier heading for the exit door, according to the Mirror.
The newspaper claims Sessegnon has made it clear he has his heart set on joining Spurs and say the youngster is ‘highly likely’ to complete a move to White Hart Lane over the coming weeks after refusing to sign a new contract at Craven Cottage.
With just a year left on his contract, and a 45 million pounds price tag on Fulham’s full-back, the wise decision would be coming into terms with their player cash-in now while they can still command a sizable fee.
The report, however, states that Tottenham are hoping to secure a deal closer to £25m and with chairman Daniel Levy known to be a shrewd operator in the transfer market, you wouldn’t bet against Spurs driving the price down.
The versatile winger has been with Fulham his entire career having come through their youth system and establishing himself as one of the most exciting teenagers in British football since breaking into the first team over the past three years.
The England U21 international made his name as an attacking left-back but he’s been used further forward over the past 12 months so his versatility will be a very useful asset if he does complete a move to Tottenham.
